Across the US, there are more than 1.6 million individuals living in 16,000 nursing homes and more than 1 million in 50,000 board and care-assisted living facilities. Residents’ Rights Month comes to a close in a matter of days, but the need for all residents of long term care facilities to receive quality care, enjoy quality of life and be treated with respect does not end. Making and keeping connections with these individuals and the greater communities in which they live is a goal worthy of our attention, each and every day.
